your energy and overall well-being. As a general rule in detoxifying yourself, consume more fiber and drink lots of water as it is the most basic form of detoxifying your body. Consuming lots of fruits , vegetables, beans and nuts is another easy way to detox your body.

A detox diet recipe helps to get rid your body of accumulated toxins. Detox foods are well know for being tasteless and this may make it hard for some but a detox diet recipe will make your foods tastier, without you being worried about your health. Here are some recipes for detox diet:
 

Cleansing Vegetable Broth

Many people believe that foods rich in the alkaline minerals sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium help to neutralize toxic acids that can harm the body. This soup is overloaded with all those ingredients and should help you feel great!

Ingredients:
2 cup carrot tops
2 cups celery tops
2 cups beet tops
2 quarts distilled water
3 cups celery stalk
3 cups water
2 cups red skinned potato peeling 1/2 inch thick
1 small zucchini

Recipe:

Chops all the vegetables into small pieces. Place them in a pot and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, with the lid on, for 30 minutes.
 

Poached Red Snapper on Kale with Red Pepper Coulis

Did you think that cleansing food needs to be bland and tasteless? Well here's the proof that its not!
Servings: 2

Ingredients:
6 four-ounce pieces of red snapper
juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon peppercorns
1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
2 pounds of kale
2 red peppers
1 cup basil

Recipe:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place the snapper pieces in a shallow baking tray, covered with water, and add the lemon juice, peppercorns and bay leaf. Place in the oven for 30 minutes.

While the fish is cooking, sauté the kale with olive oil and garlic. Place the kale on plates - this is the base of the dish. Now broil the peppers until blackened. Remove the skin and seeds, dice, and sauté the pieces with olive oil and basil. Allow to cool and puree.

To complete the dish, divide the Kale between 6 plates. Place the fish on top, and drizzle the coulis!
 

Warm Broccoli Soup

This hearty and filling soup is all goodness, and it tastes great too!
Servings: 2

Ingredients:
1/2 Avocado
6 -8 Decent size Broccoli Heads
1/3 Red Onion
1 Celery Stick
Big Handful of Spinach
An Inch of Root Ginger

Recipe:

Lightly steam the broccoli, for 5-6 minutes. Place it and all the other ingredients in a blender. Add garlic, salt and pepper to taste.
 

Creamless Spinach Soup

This simple soup will revitalize your system as part of a Detox diet.
Servings: 2

Ingredients:
1 pound of spinach
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced carrots
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced leek
3 cups water
1/2 teaspoon Thyme
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic

Recipe:
Sauté the onions, carrots, celery, leek in a pot with the oil and garlic.
Add the water and Thyme, simmer for one hour then leave to cool for one hour.
Puree in a blender, then put back in the pot on medium heat.
Add the spinach, cook until it wilts, and serve hot!

Juice Cleansing Instructions

You must only use freshly squeezed fruit, veggies and herbs. Try experimenting with combinations of beets, celery, carrots, apples, cucumber, garlic, ginger, cilantro, wheatgrass and cayenne pepper. All are excellent for cleansing. 

It’s actually best to use a variety of different ingredients and vary your juices as much as possible - they all contain different important cleansing properties.

If you are juicing at home, you can add the also pulp from the juiced vegetable to make a broth. Just add water to a pot with the pulp and simmer for 15-20 minutes, then season the broth with cayenne pepper.

If you don’t have a juicer, you can buy the juice in your local health supermarket or juice bar.
 

Kidney cleanser

Juice Fasting

Ingredients:
3 celery stalks
2 tomatoes
1 lemon, peeled
2 carrots
Water

Skin Cleanse

Ingredients:
1 Cucumber with skin
1/2 bunch Fresh Parsley
1 4-oz. tub Alfalfa Sprouts
4 Sprigs Fresh Mint
Water

Blood Builder (Iron-enriched)

Ingredients:
2 bunches Grapes
6 Oranges
8 Lemons peeled
1/4 cup Honey
Water

Radiant Juice
1 large eating apple, quartered
1 orange, peeled but with some pith
2 large carrots, topped, tailed, and peeled if not organic
1-inch piece of fresh gingerroot, peeled and sliced

Put all ingredients into a blender or food processor and whiz until smooth.

Tomato Juice with Garlic and Green Onions

8 large tomatoes
2 fat bulbs green onions, trimmed
4 large sprigs basil
6 large springs oregano

Roughly chop the tomatoes and green onions and put into a blender or food processor with the leaves from the basil and oregano. Whiz until smooth.

Mango, Kiwi, and Pineapple Juice

1 large ripe mango, pitted
4 kiwifruit, peeled
1 medium pineapple, top removed

Simply put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and whiz until smooth.

Carrot and Beet Juice

4 carrots, topped and tailed
4 medium beets
3 large sprigs basil

Put the ingredients into a blender or food processor and whiz until smooth.

Radiant Lemonade

Vitamin A is essential for healthy, radiant skin and you’ll get it in abundance from the carrots in this juice. The bonus comes from the radishes—their natural constituents stimulate the cleansing function of the liver, making this the perfect juice when you’ve been a bit overindulgent or your digestive system seems slightly sluggish.

1 large carrot, topped, tailed, and peeled if not organic
10 radishes, topped and tailed
1 apple, quartered
1 beet, topped and tailed
juice and finely grated zest of 2 lemons
up to 1-1/4 cups naturally sparkling mineral water (optional)

Juice the first 4 ingredients. Add the lemon juice and zest. If you want a longer, fizzy drink, add the mineral water.

Watercress Soup

Watercress is one of the truly great radiant foods. It's hugely antioxidant, especially protective against lung cancer, and rich in iron, which makes it a key to inner beauty.

1 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 bunches watercress, with stems
1 quart vegetable stock
3/4 cup plus  tbsp. plain yogurt with live bacteria

Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté the onion gently until soft. Add the garlic and continue to cook for 2 minutes. Add the watercress and continue to cook gently until it wilts. Add the stock and simmer for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a blender or food processor and whiz until smooth. Serve hot or cold with a swirl of yogurt in each bowl.

Zucchini Pasta

14 oz. thin pasta, such a spaghettini
4 medium zucchini, grated
1-1/4-inch piece fresh gingerroot, grated
4 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil
4 tsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 green onions, finely chopped
1-1/2 cups bean sprouts

Cook the pasta in a saucepan of boiling water according to the package directions. Transfer to a large serving bowl and mix in all the other ingredients. Serve immediately.
