Please, please state in this article that these are NOT the 12 Steps of AA as written by AA. These are your interpretations of what the steps say, and present a very distorted concept of the Higher Power. Your mention of “the Lord” and so on goes against AA Traditions because it is exclusionary, and AA is not exclusionary but rather is very inclusive. AA is a NOT a religious organization, and allies itself with no particular religion or creed. I would hate to have a newcomer or someone who is questioning his/her drinking and wondering about attending AA meetings stumble across this and believe these are the official steps of AA! Many of these people would never come to AA after reading this. Please add a disclaimer that states that this is your personal interpretation of the steps or remove your version altogether and replace it with the steps directly from the Big Book of AA or the 12 and 12. This makes me very, very unhappy indeed.
