Starting a Body Cleansing Detox? 3 Kitchen Staples to Avoid
Are you on a body cleansing detox? You may want to sit back and take a look at what you have been eating. Many of us sabotage our detoxification efforts without realizing it, thanks to kitchen staples we often forget are bad for us. Here are some of the most common culprits.
1. Caffeine
It’s important to perceive caffeine as a drug—which it is. Caffeine is contained in soda, tea, coffee, and chocolate. While caffeine can perk you up when you need it to do so the most, it can also result in insomnia, fat and carb cravings, and exhaustion. If you must consume caffeine, the key is to do so it in moderation. If caffeine has become a food group in your diet, then you should consider consuming less and having a body cleansing detox. For instance, if you can’t live without sodas, then drink one can a day—not one two-liter bottle!
2. Fat
Our bodies need a certain amount of fat, but too much of it is bad for us. In particular, fat around your waistline can increase your risk of acquiring major diseases.
Fat can cause a variety of health problems, including hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, strokes, and certain varieties of cancer. The key is to reduce your fat intake, burn the fat you consume through exercise, and conduct a body cleansing detox. This doesn’t mean that you must starve yourself. Instead, find healthy alternatives of your favorite foods. For instance, remove the skin of chicken and then grill, broil, bake, or boil it.
3. Salt
Do you prefer potato chips, French fries, or pretzels? I won’t be surprised if you answer yes because there is science behind it. You see, our bodies need a certain amount of salt, particularly after we sweat a lot.
Salt, which scientists refer to as sodium chloride, constantly flows through our circulatory system. In fact, while a surplus of salt in people’s diets often gets attention in the media, a lack of salt can result in major health risks and could even be fatal.
The amount of sodium that humans need varies from person-to-person. What does not vary, however, is the need to moderate our salt intake—and avoid needing a body cleansing detox. According to one study, the average American receives roughly three-fourths of his sodium intake from prepared and processed foods. The main health problems that high sodium intake causes include heart problems, high blood pressure, and kidney failure. When your kidneys cannot process excess salt, it ends up in your bloodstream. This causes your heart to work overtime in order to keep your blood flowing properly.
Don’t let these three kitchen staples get in the way of good health. Minimize your intake so you can reap the full benefits of your body cleansing detox.

I disagree. I think that sea salt is perfectly acceptable. I think it would be more important to avoid sugar.

Salt intake is supposed tobe moderated but at the same time having enough salt in your diet actually helps detoxification – according to experts.
Good post anyways.
Thanks.

Intake of too much salt is very dangerous for high blood pressure diagnosed patients like me. Therefore, it is always recommended to have an adequate amount of salt and sugar in your daily diet. Too much salt & sugar is not good, same applies to too less salt & sugar.

I don’t think that sugar, as in white granulated sugar, should be in any part of a healthy diet. Sugar intake should come from fructose or fruit. Table salt is processed and stripped down, where as Sea salt is sodium chloride, that’s the same salt water used in IV’s because our bodies are comprised of salt water. That is mho.
